Dan Atherton graduated from the prestigious NFTS cinematography program in 2016. After graduating he shot a variety of short film projects including SWEET MADDIE STONE, LOVE POOL and THE PASSENGER. Dan was widely credited for his work on many of these projects, most notably winning the BSC ‘Best Cinematography’ award two years running (2018 & 2019).

Since then, Dan’s career has progressed quickly whilst working on some hugely successful long form productions, such as Netflix’s hit series TOP BOY and critic’s favourite SOMEWHERE BOY, for Channel 4. Most recent work includes Dan as lead DP on the Stephen Knight adaptation of GREAT EXPECTATIONS for BBC and FX, starring Olivia Coleman. He has also just wrapped on an untitled Apple TV project where he shot all 8 episodes alongside director and long term collaborator, Brady Hood.
